TIRE MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGIES FOR HEAVY-DUTY TRANSPORT VEHICLES
ProDrive Industrial is a trusted provider of Automatic Tire Inflation Systems (ATIS) for semi- trailers and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) for both trucks and trailers. Our patented technologies contribute not only to highway safety but also to increased fuel economy, extended tire life, and more importantly the minimization of tire failures and resulting vehicle downtime.
ProDrive’s TPMS products constantly monitor tire pressures and temperatures and report them by tire position to the vehicle operator as well as to a variety of remote monitoring portals. Our back-end monitoring options include dedicated communications to desktop and portable devices and cloud-based reporting to internet portals. Our TPMS products can be set to provide warning alarms at various levels of pressures and temperatures, from mild to serious to critical.
ProDrive’s ATIS products take air from a semi-trailer’s air brake reservoir and route it to each of the vehicle’s tires at a pressure prescribed by the fleet. The system’s pressure protection valving prevents any loss of air brake pressure in the event of a catastrophic tire failure and its low-pressure warning system also alerts the operator in the event of a pressure loss exceeding an amount prescribed by the fleet. ProDrive’s patented deflation technology also allows for pressure relief in the event of overinflation due to heat, road conditions, etc.
Automatic tire inflation systems (ATIS) work to overcome one or more of the causes of tire underinflation by monitoring tire inflation pressure relative to a pre-set target and re-inflating tires whenever the detected pressure is below the target level. The system alerts the driver that the tires are being re-inflated but does not report the actual tire pressure. The system relies on the vehicle’s compressed-air tanks or draws air directly from the surrounding environment using a self-contained pump.
